SK-II Vending machine
One of the many lightning fast marketing projects we completed at 10XBeta.
This was a custom vending machine for an SK-II mall takeover in Japan. The customer could purchase a limited edition red or blue bottle and the machine would simulate decorating it from scratch. After inserting either a red or blue card, they would push the stock glass bottle down and watch it rise up, get painted, have confetti applied, essence inserted, boxing, and finally the real product would be presented to them. Each segment would display a red or blue bottle based on the card that was inserted.
I was responsible for the design and fabrications of each of the modules. We completed the design/build in under 2 months. Our unit was built in Brooklyn and shipped via air to Japan for the launch.
