LOWES EXOSUIT
We were given a conceptual exosuit developed by a research team at Virginia Tech. The suit stores the wearers energy when leaning forward and squatting and uses it to assist standing and lifting. Over the course of a work shift the user would expend much less energy.
Our goal was to reduce bulk and clutter and optimize adjustment points. The below photos show the before and after of our efforts. Most loose straps were eliminated and the leg mechanism was greatly reduced, allowing the wearer to sit in a chair comfortably.
