Crye Precision is a prominent military apparel and gear company based in Brooklyn, NY. Their products range from cut-and-sew apparel to hard goods, including ballistic protection. As Director of Product Development I was responsible for ensuring all products were developed on time, met all requirements, and were produced profitably.
DASHER Lights came to me with the concept of large tree ornaments that housed retractable LED string lights.
I determined the ideal lengths of the light strand and rewind spring for each ornament to house. I designed the the internal retracting mechanism and came up with an assembly that completely hides all screws, while allowing the units to be disassembled for servicing.
